A duck quacking by the back door as I went downstairs upon rising. A blackbird attacking a pigeon in the old pear tree. Small matters such as this are a delight in the Nuovo Modo I am living my life.
Morning reading…
A paragraph on page 258 of DU IV explains to me an experience at Sherborne House. While on my bed in the dormitory, shared with five other young men, sending good wishes to a recently-departed, a geometrical pattern suddenly lit up in front of me. This is one of the experiences that continues to guide and inform my life, from its beginning when I woke up in this body and was sucked into the little Fripp creature’s concerns. Good to hold an experience rather than talk about it; and perhaps, a long time later, we may acquire a vocabulary to think, reflect and better consider it.

King Crimson - Discipline (a very dark album, that’s the feeling I got when I first listened to it, my first King Crimson album purchased on it’s release date, oh of course the band was also to appear at Friars in my hometown of Aylesbury the next month, was I ever the happiest twenty year old in Aylesbury that day)…

… there was a discussion of feasting upon "Lark’s Tongues". I know that it was an ancient dish, and I wish I could remember other phrases and references to other prog titles and bands (other than Marillion, which he denied having to do with the band)…
At the 1981 Discipline/KC Aylesbury gig, a young man appeared at the front of the stage and gave me a cassette. The band was Marillion, the young man Fish. I believe the tape is now somewhere in the DGM Archive.
